Diagnostic essay- final

The best job that I have had would actually be the job that I currently have, I am an electrician, well I am an apprentice electrician, trying to find my way through the work force. Currently I have four years of experience in the trade and travel a lot. I would not have this any other way. I love my job because it is stressful yet simple, I can get the satisfaction of a job well done, and the pay it nice too.
As an electrician I have the ability to supply power to everyone who needs it and can afford it. Also I have the ability to install fiber optic cable and communication wiring. I work on systems as low as twenty four volts to multi thousand kva switch gears. As an electrician the path to success it not that easy as many would think. Most people think that if you are an electrician life is easy all you need is a flat head and Philips screw driver, a wire stripper and a pair of side cutters. The truth is, as an electrician a person must know a lot about every other trade in order to accomplish the job successfully and In order to become a certified electrician a person must be in the field of service for four years with at least a two year classroom education in the trade. The board of contractors also requires a classroom course to be taken every four years or a person may lose their electrician license. Last but not least, Problem solving is an everyday basis causing stress primarley caused by lack of others ability, or trying to install a race way when there is absolutely no room to install it.
As I have already stated I love my job and wouldn’t change it for the world. Most of all out of everything I love when the power gets turned on and watching the light attached to a switch turn on when the switch gets put into the on position. Or when a switch gear does not blow up as it becomes energized. I said it twice so I will say it again I love my job.

adventures of english 111

English 111 was an unforgettable experience. The classroom peers where absolutely amazing with fun and laughter every time. For those of you who are going to be taking Mr. Gasparos’ class I warn you now. This class was very time consuming with all of the writing, reading, and video watching that was involved. But when you are done I can guarantee that you will have a greater perspective on life and you will think more open minded. The assignments for this course where not that hard to do, the biggest problem for me was understanding what assignment is due and when. That assignments that we did where as followed: a prospectus essay to start the class off with what your writing abilities are before entering class then their where also a few essays of which were what you believe, a Prospectus for the Argument essay and a rhetorical analysis essay. We as a class also learned the proper way to right a thesis statement and or learn what a thesis statement is. The biggest project for this course is the final argument paper with a presentation that must be about ten minutes long. The project was not that bad I repeat this project was not that bad as long as you chose to write on something that you what to argue about. Last but not least we learned how to right a works cited page correctly to enable us to give credit to the sources that are used to write a research paper.
From what I gathered in this class Mr. Gasparo tries to accommodate everyone by allowing a freedom of choice in the writing assignments. He is also trying to see if you the student will come out of your shell and do something creative. At the beginning of this course the prof. asked each one of us to tell him was we expect from this course. As a result a resume and cover letter was added to the assignments for the semester, because most did not know how to write one. Although we did not go over exactly how to write a resume and cover letter in class, the prof. did however give precise instructions on how to improve it immensely after turning in the assignment.
Another thing to think about is if you are looking for an instructor that is easy to get alone with but will push you then this is the guy. But if you are one of those people that waits until the last minute then this course is defiantly not for you. The biggest complaint that I have was, other then writing an email to him, or to show up during off hours in the campus library. There was no other means to communicate outside of class. And I personally don’t check my e-mail every day nor have the ability to sit in front of a computer everyday or have the ability to get to the library during his free time. So I personally feel that lack to communication services was a major struggle with me and the hopeful success in this course.
All in all this course was defiantly one of the better courses that I have taken here at tidewater and I have been taking classes here for over three years. I would highly recommend this instructor for this course at anytime.
